Yes, we recognize haters.
We also recognize when haters love to hate.
But this?…One can only imagine what the LORD is thinking when sending a hater to serve a people this hater loves to hate. For which cause we now witness the LORD put on “work clothes” and deploy these next miracles of record…
m) …the LORD God prepared a gourd…
n) …God prepared a worm…
o) …God prepared a vehement east wind…
There’s no easy way to say this, so here it is.
“The Word of God is written for the benefit of all living souls, starting with the messenger who holds the pen first, then the recipient, regardless of identity, which things only have value in the world, whereas the LORD God has an eternal system of value that works in all conditions, regardless of our prior consent or knowledge.”
For this cause, we also have an equally unique declaration from the LORD with Jonah once his heart was exposed enough to hear…
“Look at this gourd. It was here one day. You got what you needed from it. Now it’s gone. You grieve as if you lost something you created.”
“Now look at Me, right from where you are, since I Am for the moment only an Object of your self-interest. Working that problem out of your soul requires that you understand the dead are of no value to Me. All of mankind is the object of My unconditional love on the earth, such as you, your people, even these causeless pagans cattle-driving each other around. My compassion is the appropriate response here, not your bitterness.”
“It takes whatever it takes.”
I’m not going through the whole story of where I got that one-liner, but I will say this: I was a lot worse off than Jonah, for at the time, the only person I loved to hate was myself. The man that told me that one-liner to my face seemed to know that about me already, and saw right through my mask, long before I did. But then again, knowing what I know now, it’s both too easy and too sorrowful to see through the walking dead.
Jesus is too close to the appointed time. There are too many people yet unreached and for too many reasons not accounted for in His purposes, not just the apathy, hatred and ignorance highlighted in this one scroll. Now at this point I’m sure an ordained, professional is may offer up some seminary-graded plea about coming to Jesus…only today’s world around us, or at least the ones that aren’t laughing in our faces with disrespect, are sitting in silent scorn with their contempt for “those hypocrites over there”…while quietly awaiting the inevitable to occur, too scared to live, too scared to die, too scared to admit their true condition.
It’s just simply going to take whatever it takes for all these trends to change…Let’s see about that as this life continues into unchartered territory. Meanwhile…the next time I encounter or am confronted by someone I may (love to) hate, it’s my prayer that I remember…
“God’s actively working both sides of the street”…
…be it His and mine
…mine and theirs
…good and evil
…eternity and the confines of our time.
